I had the same dilemma working in a restaurant. Am I wasting away my time on repetitive little things or is this a lesson that not everything is meant for growth? Maybe some filler activities are good, as long as I don't stress out about wasting time... flow is being in the moment, for me - as long as I let myself be, without judgement, everything flows. What you have and I didn't is contemplation, writing down your experiences and adjusting your path based on your values, to make sure you flow in the right direction. You inspired me to write in a journal again, and I'm grateful for that 🤗
Was just thinking of this the other day, how we're constantly swinging in that one pendulum to the next (too busy / too chill / too busy / too chill) but the present, in its evanescence, is the most beautiful part of it all.
Thinking about it, it almost sounds like you're one of the main characters in a Murakami novel. Especially considering your writing style in the first paragraph is similar to his... Now, I just want to read more and get to know the observations of a tea shop owner between 3-8pm in TST, the conversations with friends and the strangers who stop by, and just in general her thoughts and feelings to her daily life!
I’ve been enjoying the metaphor of surrendering to what life is putting in front of me. It feels like a more feminine version of flow (where masculine maybe feels more like productivity flow). I’m so excited you’re running a tea shop!
🙏✨🔮💜 I’m going to use this metaphor as a mini mantra ☺️ I’m interested in finding out more feminine versions of “things” that can potentially be more beneficial to myself (feels like a re-definition of feminism of sorts).
And thanks! I love my little tea shop! Hope to be able to share more with you about it soon 😍

I long to be simply flowing without judgement. That seems like a beautiful place to be 🩵 And can’t wait to hear your reflections too hehe

Channeling my inner Murakami! I think that’s what his writing does to you, to appreciate the mundane!
